LAKE CHALA DAY TOUR

Our single day tour package gives you an opportunity to visit the national park by observing the great diversity of wildlife or experience the everyday life of the indigenous people of Tanzania.  These trips are usually starts from Arusha, Moshi or Marangu. The excursions are ideal: in a short time. At the end of the day trip, you can choose if you want to be dropped off at Kilimanjaro International Airport, at Arusha Airport or at your hotel. All day trips include a picnic lunch (lunch box) and mineral water.


Lake Chala, a hidden gem, a perfect place to relax and unwind from the busy city life. The remote caldera lake on the border of Tanzania & Kenya is only 55km from Moshi and therefore the perfect get away for a day. Pure tranquillity and beautiful nature await you at the lake. Explore the area on one of the many possible hikes, swim in the crystal clear water, kayak across borders or simply enjoy the stunning vistas of an untouched Africa.

Itinerary:

In the morning your guide will pick you up from your accommodation. You will drive to Lake Chala Safari Camp with a packed lunch box and drinking water. Upon arrival you will see the beautiful private game reserve overlooking the crater lake. Our guide will take you down to the lake. Spend the day swimming, exploring, kayaking (optional). You will experience the natural beauties of the green scenery, landscape and will also have the opportunity to meet local people doing their daily activity. There is a very high possibility of spotting the baboon monkey, velvet monkey, blue monkey, antelopes, elephants and many different birds, that live in this wonderful savannah land. You will then be driven back to Moshi in the late afternoon. There is also the option of staying overnight in the lodge or camping site. If you are camping, you can either bring your own equipment or hire upon arrival. There is a bar that serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and a restaurant that serves snacks and main meals. Staying overnight gives you the opportunity of going on longer hikes, fishing, and having time to relax next to a camp fire.

CHEMKA HOT SPRINGS DAY TOUR

The Chemka Hot Springs are about 40 kilometers away from Moshi, in the homonymous village called Chemka. They are underground springs with warm water. The water forms a clear and clean pond which is ideal for swimming. The pond is very deep, in some places up to 10 meters, but the water is so clear that you can see the bottom well all the time. The pond is situated under lush trees. On the shore you can camp, enjoy your snacks and let yourself dry after swimming.

Itinerary:

We pick you up from your hotel early in the morning. The road to the Hot Springs is very

bumpy and windy, so driving takes more than one hour. During the trip you can enjoy the

wonderful scenery and see the authentic Tanzanian life. When we arrive at the Hot Springs

you can swim, relax, eat your lunch and enjoy the sun. If you'd like, while you are

swimming we can be preparing a barbecue for you. Additionally, if you desire, we can

overnight at the Hot Springs with a camp fire and a bush dinner. Everywhere around the

springs you can see baboons and different monkeys.

MATERUNI WATERFALLS AND COFFEE TOUR

Begin the day with a short drive up onto the slopes of Kilimanjaro, to the village of Materuni, approximately 1,800 m above sea level.  This lush rainforest region is known for producing some of the best coffee in East Africa.  Start the day with a visit to a small coffee farm and learn about how the coffee is grown, harvested and processed locally. Try your own hand at processing, roasting and preparing a fresh cup of coffee in the local Chagga way.

Once you have finished enjoying your coffee break, you will depart on a beautiful 45 minute hike through the hills and valleys en route to the waterfalls.  Along the way your guide will teach you about local plants and how they are used for food and traditional medicine, as well as giving you more insights into the local Chagga culture. The waterfalls are hidden in a pristine valley with cliffs towering up to 200ft overhead. The water falls straight down in a curtain to land in a small pool where you can relax, take lunch and go for a swim in the chill mountain waters.  After the falls hike you will return back to the car and return to Moshi. This is an experience you are sure to love, full of natural beauty, engaging education, and of course coffee.

 

OLPOPONGI VILLAGE (MASAAI CULTURAL VILLAGE).

Visiting Masaai village it will gives you an opportunity to experience the unique culture of Masaai people. You will get more information about the culinary culture of the Maasai while tasting a traditional tea prepared on the wood fire and different varieties of local food.

Maasai warriors will guide you along their paths and explain to you typical medicinal plants, extraordinary trees, tracks and the local wildlife. In addition to that, the usage of local tools, hunting techniques and fire preparation is a part your unforgettable bush excursion. During the sunset a group of Maasai men and woman gathering around for the traditional singing & dancing performances. A great BBQ-Buffet right at camp fire and the get together with your already known Maasai friends, will provide you an unforgettable evening
